To put it mildly, Marilyn and I find ourselves a liitle bit confused these days. Like really; what time of year is it? What is the correct date? I thought it was supposed to be spring but it’s still winter. Did we miss something? Back in the old days (I’m sorry, good old days) we all had a calendar hanging in the kitchen, in the bedroom and in a good year even hanging in the bathroom (Just a thought; remember the ones we had in the garage? Now those were calendars!) so we always knew exactly what the date was.
These days are calendars are all electronic and are found on our computer or cell phone, TV or radio. We all know Electronics can screw up. Our phones and our computers keep telling us it’s May. Every time we step outside Mother Nature says it’s like January or maybe February. Today for example: the temperature is 5 C (low 40’s F), it’s raining, it’s cold it’s damp. It feels like it’s going to snow. A very typical winter day I’d say, but my Blackberry says it’s May. May is flowers, sunshine and baby bunnies. Did my blackberry lock up or is it really May?
This morning, while out shopping, Mar & I we spied a good old fashioned paper calendar. I questioned the sales person at length and she insists that it is this year’s calendar and it is the right month. She told me that she personally turns the page on the very first of each month, turning to May just a couple of days ago.
Things were really different back in the good old days. Remember the saying “April showers bring May flowers?” Now the saying goes “April showers bring May Showers”
I’m afraid to even ask about June.
