It was way back last summer when Marilyn started her campaign with Santa for a Keurig coffee maker and I resisted right from the start. My arguments of bad for the enviroment and too expensive at 50 to 70 cents a cup held up pretty good for a few months but when I actually sat down and looked at our coffee drinking patterns her campaign started to make sense.
What would happen before Keurig is we would make an 8 cup pot of coffee in the morning, then sit and drink it all before we did anything else.Even if it was cold.
The better Keurig’s come with a filter so you can use your own coffee (oops, there went my arguments) or use the K-cups. The choice is yours. So, then I’m on board: If we start the day with one good cup of Joe as opposed to 3 or 4 cups of mediocre stuff, maybe it makes sense.
I cut a special deal with Santa so we’ve actually had the Keurig for a couple of weeks and it’s working out as we agreed. We start the day with one good coffee, then move on. That’s it. Later in the day we may have a tea, a hot chocolate or even another coffee but for sure while our coffee quality is way up our coffee quantity is way down.
I just finished my last sip of good stuff so that’s the end of this story.
If they only made a machine for beer.
Now that’s what I’m talking about!
We had ice on the dog dish again a couple of days ago. For the last three weeks our forecast highs have always been in the low and medium 60’s. Suddenly all that has changed. Our lows the last couple of days have been in the 60’s today our highs are to be high 70’s to low 80’s.
Merry Christmas everyone.
