More Than We Planned

Posted on October 29, 2012

We travel because we love meeting new people, seeing new places and sharing new and exciting experiences. Some days we get more than we planned for. Today will certainly be one of these days because today we are meeting Hurricane Sandy.

We are not seeing much rain but the winds are certainly cranking up. A local TV news channel tells us that we are currently experiencing wind gusts up to 80 mph and can expect more. Forecasts call for the winds and storm to lash us for perhaps the next 24 hours. We can be thankful for the protection of the large trees that surround this RV park. We hope they continue to protect us because if they fall, they could certainly hurt us.

We are probably a lot more fortunate than some. We are travelling with two other couples and they are within  100 ft of us. While we have retracted our satellite dish, we still have power and water, cable tv and internet. If we lose power we can start our generator, we have enough fuel to last for days. If we lose city water we can use our full 100 gallon fresh water tank. We have lots of fuel for our furnace and good batteries. We have lots to eat, and even a Black Box or two. We have books to read and if all that fails or even if it doesn’t, we love to cuddle.

Just now it has started to rain and boy it is pelting straight across from north to south.

The most important part of this whole post is We feel safe

Thanks for the read. Thanks for your thoughts.

We continue to follow your posts and look forward to them daily. The storm is also having it’s affect up north because Roger Sicard called today and asked us to postpone delivery of our coach until later this week, which is probably wise. Stay safe and we’ll catch up with you later.
